How to send bulk WhatsApp messages without getting your number banned
Ten rules that separate a campaign people read from a blocked number — opt-in, template categories, pacing, and what Meta actually measures.
Bans are almost never about volume. A number sending 100,000 template messages a day can stay green while a number sending 400 gets restricted in a week. Meta measures how people react — blocks, reports and negative feedback — not how much you send.
The ten rules
- Collect explicit opt-in and store where and when it happened. A website checkbox, a form submission, an in-store signature — any of them work, but you must be able to produce it.
- Use the right template category. Marketing copy submitted as utility is the single fastest way to a quality-rating drop.
- Put the offer in the first line. If the preview looks like spam, people block before they open.
- Personalise beyond the first name — reference the product, city or appointment they actually asked about.
- Honour STOP instantly and permanently, across every channel, not just the list they replied to.
- Throttle. Ramp a new number gradually instead of firing your whole database on day one.
- Segment by engagement. Contacts who have not opened anything in 90 days should get a re-permission message, not another offer.
- Never buy lists. Purchased data produces block rates that no amount of copywriting can rescue.
- Send in business hours in the recipient's timezone.
- Watch quality rating daily and pause the moment it moves to yellow.
What good numbers look like
Watch three numbers on every campaign: delivery, reads and replies. If your read rate is fine but blocks are climbing, your targeting is right and your copy is wrong. If delivery itself is falling, your list quality is the problem.
In Clikgen, keep each audience in its own contact list, send approved templates as campaigns, and check delivery, read and reply numbers in the campaign reports — so you can stop what is not working.
